  • The visitor center on the chalk coast is a non-profit limited company in partnership with the WWF and the town of Sassnitz. In addition to the successful environmental education work and the extensive exhibition on the national park, the Königsstuhl is also part of its offer.

  • BIG Städtebau is a partner to the local authorities as a fiduciary redevelopment agency, urban planning consultant and regional developer. It is responsible for project management in this project.

  • The impressive building project was designed by the internationally renowned planning office Schlaich Bergermann Partner, which also designed the award-winning pedestrian bridge at Sassnitz city harbor.

  • The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is supporting the Königsweg construction project and thus the regional infrastructure as well as the possibility of gentle and sustainable tourism at the Königsstuhl with funding of around 7.5 million euros.

  • The regional company flz Stahl- und Metallbau Lauterbach GmbH, which has extensive experience and expertise in individual steel construction, was commissioned to build the Königsweg.

  • The port town of Sassnitz is the client and applicant for the project. The long-term preservation of the attractiveness of the region as well as its development and securing its future are of central importance to it.
